Lenny Nelson
Lenny
was an Antrim man with family connections in Dublin. This epitomised
Lenny who lived life to the full without borders or perceived boundaries.
A devoted husband to Maire, father to Rory and Nadia, brother to Yvonne
and Barry and friend to many, Lenny was a gentle soul who loved life
and was full of fun and energy. He was a talented musician playing
several instruments including his latest joy, the ukulele and he was
a founder of the Ukelele Orchestra in Derry. He couldn't sit still
and was forever either building structures, making sculptures or coppicing
wood... he loved his motorbike, his bicycle, his roller blades, his
sleigh and his beloved dog, Glenedd. Lenny worked in The Playhouse
Theatre as the Technical Manager, a job which fed all his passions
- music, drama, sets, lighting and sound. He was cruelly taken from
us on 30 October 2014 on the way home from the theatre and life will
never be the same again. May the wind be always in his back and the
music keep his spirits high.
