Fundraising Updates
July 5th:
Fundraising Opened
July 31st: The Bikers Memorial committee
are delighted to be able to announce the site of the proposed National
Bikers memorial sculpture/garden.
We are hugely grateful to the staff
and elected members of Monaghan Co. Council who have made this beautiful
site, adjacent to all required services and the stunning new Clones
marina of the Ulster canal available to us to prepare designs for the
proposed national memorial. On receipt of these designs the site maybe
subject to planning permission.
The site will be developed to make
a wonderfully reflective place to come and remember the loved ones we’ve
lost in a quiet, respectful and dignified manner.
Our thanks to all who’ve donated
so far and we’d encourage others to please support this worthy
cause with as much or as little as you can.
All your donations will go towards
this unique memorial to all our friends and loved ones. Open 365 days
a year it will offer a special place of reflection and remembrance to
families going through the worst of times.
Thank you all again.
Míle buíochas arís.
28th August 2024: Massive support for
Bikers’ Memorial Family Fun Day
Barry McGuigan Park, Clones was a hive
of activity, fun and laughter on Sunday 18th August.
With 5 massive bouncy castles provided
by AC Flash event hire, from tractors to unicorns, food provided by
the Mad Dogs MCC, a wonderful digger driver experience thanks to MCN
Plant Sales & Hire and Tea/Coffee and Ice Cream vendors and
a resident photographer, Noel Conway, all was set for a brilliant day.
The day was blessed with sunshine throughout a fact that certainly helped
bring the crowds out. And the crowds came out.
‘We are really blown away by the support we received, both for
the fun day itself and the bigger project of erecting a National Bikers
Memorial’, stated Bikers Memorial Chairperson Annie Marshall,
as she addressed the large crowd on the day. Before announcing the total
raised was a massive €5,006.61.
Thanks to Sponsors and supporters: AC Flash Hire, Packie Willies, McElvanney

reached as we hit €20,000 in donations.
Massive thank you to all who have donated
so far. It is hugely heartening to the committee to see the support
for the National Bikers’ Memorial being matched by the amazing
generosity of our community.
A huge step forward no doubt, but we’re
not done yet. Can we encourage all who’ve donated so far to spread
the word among your family, friends and community that will see us reach
our ultimate goal, a National Bikers’ Memorial open 365 days a
year for all the people who’ve suffered the pain of a sudden and
tragic loss.
Thank you all so much, keep up the
great work.
1st October 2024: Stunning support means
#nationalbikersmemorial reaches €30,000 ahead of expectations.
The Bikers memorial committee have
been blown away by the fantastic support the National Bikers’
Memorial has received to date. We knew that biking community would be
there to help, but the speed and generosity of all who’ve donated
so far is beyond our wildest expectations. A huge thanks to each and
everyone who donated so far. It’s massively appreciated.
Currently we are preparing the procurement
documents, in conjunction with Monaghan Co. Council. We expect that
the search for the right sculptor for the job will go public by mid
October. This process will be preformed via the “eTenders.ie”
system. Any artists you may know, direct them to register (if not already
there) on eTenders.ie asap.
Once again can we ask that you continue
to spread the word among your family, friends and community that will
see us reach our ultimate goal, a National Bikers’ Memorial open
365 days a year for all who’ve suffered the pain of a sudden and
tragic loss.
Thanks again everyone.
8th October 2024: Another milestone
reached in campaign for #nationalbikersmemorial
We were absolutely delighted just 2
weeks ago when our fundraising efforts reached an amazing €30,000.
Today, just 14 days later we’ve surpassed that and hit yet another
milestone, €40,000.
We are totally blown away by the kindness
and generosity of so many people who have made this happen. The amount
of messages of support we’ve received has been incredible.
We again take this opportunity to thank
each and every person, club and business from the bottom of our hearts.
They wish to see #nationalbikersmemorial realised, and their actions
will insure that it will be. You are all amazing and the reasons behind
your donations are truly inspiring.
The campaign continues, we again ask
the you continue to spread the word of the National Bikers Memorial
far and wide. We hope in the not too distant future to see people from
all corners of the country enjoying a beautiful, peaceful and emotional
place, dedicated to the memories of all our deceased loved ones.
Bikers are indeed an exceptional community.

hit yet another milestone in almost record time.
Massive thanks to all who’ve
donated, have encouraged others to contribute or help out in any way.
It’s amazing to be at €50,000

and their families who’ve suffered bereavement as a result of
motorcycle collisions.
Coming early November is the search
proper for the best sculptor for this particularly important piece of
public art.

etenders.ie. If you know any public art sculptors, not already registered,
please encourage them to register at etenders.is asap. Keep an eye on
our social media for further updates.
Keep up the support and the target
figure will soon be reached, but more importantly a dedicated place
for our wonderful community will be opened for all to seek solace, support,
love and remembrance at a time suitable to every individual.

1st December 2024: National Bikers Memorial
- Leacht Chuimhneacháin Náisiúnta na nGluaisrothaí
It’s time for the second last
update of the “fundraising section of our campaign” to see
a #nationalbikersmemorial for all our deceased friends and family.
The fact we only opened the fundraising
on Friday July 5th last, just about 5 months ago, is as amazing as it
is wonderful. Huge thanks to everyone who’ve helped, encouraged
and especially donated, to this worthy cause.
With a relatively “small”
amount of €5,000 left to raise can we ask anyone who wants to donate,
to contact us as soon as possible. If you’re a motorcycle club
or community group thinking of organising a function/event please contact
us beforehand.
Our commitment from the start was to
raise only what was needed for this particular project. We don’t
want to go over that. We are delighted with all the support we’ve
received and being so close to our target we don’t want people
going to huge effort to raise money we can’t accept!! But please
keep sharing the details of the planned memorial and keep sharing our
page. We want people to know of both the annual memorial service and
permanent memorial sculpture/garden so that as many who might benefit
from visiting will have that opportunity.
Míle buíochas/many thanks
everyone for your continued support.
13th December 2024: National Bikers
Memorial - Leacht Chuimhneacháin Náisiúnta na nGluaisrothaí
With this, our FINAL fundraising update,
we’ve run out of words to describe just how much we have been
blown away by your incredible support.
In less than 6 months we’ve reached
our financial target thanks to the generosity of so many people throughout
the country. Our fantastic biking community and our local community
have been wonderful.
We have been humbled to have the trust of so many. We have heard so
many moving stories of loss behind many of the donations. These painful
memories are a constant reminder to us of why we want and indeed need
this memorial. The families and friends of our departed bikers have
been through so much over many years They are truly looking forward
to having a peaceful, special memorial dedicated to their loved ones,
where they can seek some comfort and solace in memories of better times.
Thanks to you all we are definitely
going to provide that space in the near future.
Our Go Fund Me page will be closed to donations from today onwards.
We will not be taking further off line donations (other than the few
that were committed to the campaign before we reached the financial
target) We said at the start we wished only raise what was needed to
achieve the Goal of a Permanent Bikers Memorial. We have achieved that
thanks to you. If you had plans to donate in the future or organise
a fundraising event we’d like to thank you for thinking of this
special project. But as our financial target has been reached we would
ask that you consider other worthy causes for your generosity.
Stay connected with our social media
pages for further information on the next steps of the project, the
commissioning, installation and opening of beautiful piece of public
art in a peaceful setting dedicated to all our loved ones.
Massive thanks again everyone.
Míle buíochas libh uilig.
